After a long career in pensions, which started in the insurance industry, Brian Smith moved into the corporate world where he spent the last fifteen years as international pensions manager of a large multinational food and drinks company. He subsequently worked as a consultant and a writer/researcher on insurance and employee benefits both private and state-provided. During that time he created the GAPS network along with the late Nico Top of Actucomp.
